Director, Brand Influence, Advocacy & AI Discovery at Calendly
About the role
This position will shape how Calendly builds trust and visibility in a world increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence. You will lead strategies to amplify customer voices and community engagement, ensuring our brand is discovered and recommended by both people and AI platforms.

What you'll do
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term strategy for customer advocacy and AI-driven discovery.
- Oversee and manage the roadmaps for social media and public relations channels.
- Establish and grow customer advocacy initiatives, including programs for reviews, references, ambassadors, speakers, and creators.
- Create a system for gathering and showcasing customer success stories as valuable digital content, such as reviews, user-generated content, and testimonials.
- Collaborate with Growth, SEO, and Content teams to optimize for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
- Enhance Calendly's presence and discoverability on AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot.
- Expand our footprint on review sites (e.g., G2, Trustradius), Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, podcasts, and industry communities.
- Drive employee and executive advocacy programs to promote authentic brand messaging.
- Work with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to support product launches and adoption.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the advocacy, social, and PR team, establishing clear performance metrics and operational rhythms.
- Track performance using both traditional channel metrics and new AI discovery metrics.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in Brand Marketing, Customer Marketing, Community Management, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, or Customer Advocacy.
- Proven experience building and scaling advocacy or community programs within a B2B SaaS environment.
- A solid understanding of Product-Led Growth (PLG) and customer-led growth principles.
- Demonstrated ability to build new programs from inception and scale existing functions.
- Exceptional leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration and executive-level communication.
- A strong analytical approach with experience in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and measuring business impact.
Nice to have
- Experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS company with over $100 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
- Familiarity with AI-powered search environments and emerging AEO/GEO strategies, including relevant tracking tools.
- Experience partnering with SEO, Organic Growth, Content Strategy, and Product Marketing teams.
- Prior use of advocacy platforms such as Influitive, Gainsight, or Khoros.
- Experience utilizing review platforms, online communities, creator networks, and third-party trust signals to drive growth.

- This role may require occasional travel for company events, team collaboration, or offsites.
- Calendly is unable to employ individuals located in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and West Virginia.
- Full-time employees (30+ hours/week) are eligible for equity awards and competitive benefits. Sales employees may also qualify for a Sales Incentive program.
- Salary is determined by factors including experience, skills, interview performance, location, and internal pay equity.
- Geographic pay tiers are based on employee location zip code:
- Tier 1: San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; New York City, NY
- Tier 2: Chicago, IL; Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Boston, MA; Washington D.C.; Philadelphia, PA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Miami, FL; and all other cities in CA.
