C2R Ventures, a multi-strategy investment firm based in New York City, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and implementing AI-driven tools that enhance internal processes across various departments including research, investment, compliance, and operations.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Develop internal AI tools and automation processes that utilize on-premises datasets and infrastructure.
• Create and implement components for orchestration, vector search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) that work with internal systems.
• Connect with external LLM APIs (such as OpenAI and Anthropic) through secure endpoints, overseeing tokenization, prompts, and responses.
• Build libraries and APIs to ensure consistent and reusable patterns across user-facing tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering, with recent involvement in ML and AI technologies.
• Proficient in Python programming.
• Knowledge of standard infrastructure tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, HAProxy, and logging/metrics systems.
• Experience in designing secure, low-latency workflows across data boundaries, including the use of secure middle layers, caching, or pseudonymization techniques.
