Mainframe Developer

About the role

Brillio 2 is hiring an experienced developer to manage application lifecycle tasks and production support for Cigna transactional systems. You will bridge the gap between legacy mainframe environments and modern database platforms through complex ETL and SQL development.

What you'll do

• Build and enhance software using COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL.
• Manage data movement and ETL processes using Talend, Abinitio, AWS Glue, and PySpark.
• Provide technical support for production environments, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into functional solutions.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance across OLAP and OLTP platforms.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to software development lifecycle phases from design to implementation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in application development.
• Bachelor degree or at least 3 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Expertise in SQL across platforms such as Teradata, Snowflake, Oracle, Postgres, and SingleStore.
• Hands-on experience with ETL frameworks like Talend, Abinitio, or AWS Glue.
• Ability to work during US business hours as needed.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the healthcare industry.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services.
