Marketing Counsel at Brex.
About the role
Brex is seeking a dedicated legal partner to support our marketing organization as we scale our financial platform. You will provide strategic guidance on advertising and consumer protection regulations while helping our teams launch campaigns across our suite of corporate card, banking, and spend management products.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Act as the primary legal reviewer for all marketing materials, including web content, social media, email campaigns, and sales collateral.
- Advise on UDAP/UDAAP, FTC advertising principles, claim substantiation, and disclosure requirements.
- Partner with product and go-to-market teams during the design phase of campaigns to ensure compliance while maintaining speed.
- Build internal playbooks, templates, and self-serve resources to streamline the marketing review process.
- Manage legal risks related to sweepstakes, endorsements, testimonials, and co-marketing partnerships.
- Monitor evolving domestic and international regulations to keep the company ahead of industry trends.
Requirements
- Law degree and active bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience split between law firms and fintech organizations.
- Expertise in advertising, marketing, and consumer protection law for regulated financial products.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable advice for non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong ownership and the ability to manage projects from ideation to launch.
Nice to have
- Previous in-house legal experience at a high-growth payments or fintech company.
- Direct experience communicating with regulatory agencies.
Practical notes
- This role requires three days per week in the Seattle office.
- Employees are eligible for up to four weeks of fully remote work per year.
