Brex operates an intelligent finance platform serving over 200 markets, helping companies manage spending and banking. This role oversees the strategy and maintenance of the core financial systems that support our internal accounting operations and global business growth.

What you'll do

• Direct the systems roadmap for finance and accounting to improve scalability, data accuracy, and user experience.
• Act as the primary business owner for core financial tools, including ERP and platforms for procurement, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Manage end-to-end system enhancements for NetSuite, Coupa, Pigment, Zip, and Workday from initial requirements to deployment.
• Convert business needs into sustainable system designs, configurations, and operational workflows.
• Oversee master data governance, role design, approval processes, and change management.
• Lead automation projects to decrease manual journal entries, spreadsheet reliance, and reconciliations.
• Ensure system architecture aligns with accounting workflows like procure-to-pay, intercompany, and month-end close.
• Create documentation, SOPs, and testing protocols to maintain institutional knowledge.
• Assist with business initiatives including product launches, entity expansion, and integration projects.
• Mentor team members on systems thinking and process design best practices.
• Monitor emerging capabilities and trends within HRIS platforms.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• 8+ years of experience in Finance Systems, Accounting, or Business Systems within high-growth private, public, or consulting environments.
• Proficiency in accounting processes such as month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proven track record of leading implementations and upgrades for ERP and related finance platforms.
• Skill in converting operational requirements into scalable system solutions and control frameworks.
• Project management ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Capacity to navigate ambiguous situations and solve problems independently.
• Strong communication skills and organizational habits.
• Commitment to high-quality work and continuous process improvement.
• Desire to learn new technologies and functional areas.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with NetSuite, Coupa, Workday, Numeric, Zip, Looker, Hex, and Pigment.
• Background in designing system-enabled controls for SOX compliance, audits, or regulatory reporting.
• Experience supporting accounting organizations in SaaS, FinTech, payments, or financial services.
• Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Google Gemini.

Practical notes

• Salary range: $210,000 - $263,250, plus potential equity and benefits.
• Hybrid model: In-office required Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
