Software Engineer (Elixir/Phoenix)

Bluelightconsulting is expanding its engineering team to support a variety of client projects across the Americas. We are looking for a developer to help us build and maintain high-quality backend systems in a collaborative consultancy environment.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain backend systems and APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Partner with product managers and designers to turn requirements into scalable service architectures.
• Manage the full lifecycle of features from initial technical specifications through to deployment.
• Develop unit and integration tests to maintain system reliability.
• Conduct code reviews to uphold internal quality standards.
• Resolve performance bottlenecks and improve fault tolerance in existing applications.
• Monitor developments within the Elixir ecosystem to integrate new practices into our workflow.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in software development with a focus on backend systems.
• Demonstrated expertise working with Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Practical knowledge of OTP, functional programming, and distributed systems.
• Experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency working with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Ecto.
• Ability to communicate effectively within an agile team.
