About the role
Join the Engines business unit to build software for the design, testing, and manufacturing of propulsion systems. You will contribute to the full software lifecycle, creating tools that support mission operations and customer experience for our rocket programs.

What you'll do
- Architect and maintain scalable software solutions using modern programming languages.
- Develop and manage APIs to facilitate integration across internal systems.
- Deploy services on AWS using cloud-native patterns to ensure high availability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements.
- Establish standards for code quality, testing, and system maintainability.
- Manage the end-to-end application lifecycle from initial design through deployment and optimization.
- Participate in peer code reviews to foster collaborative development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within existing production systems.
- Research emerging technologies to determine their utility for business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
- Experience with the React frontend framework.
- Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure as code frameworks.
- Experience developing and deploying APIs in a microservices environment.
- Background in DevOps, specifically with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and optimization tools.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining production-grade applications.
Nice to have
- AWS certifications.
- Experience with GenAI, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and retrieval augmented generation.
- Knowledge of serverless computing and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with containerization like Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with test automation tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Background in aerospace or manufacturing sectors.
Skills & tools
