About the role
Bloom Energy is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to drive operational improvements within our manufacturing division. You will work directly with the Factory Engineering Director to apply advanced analytics to our solid oxide fuel cell and electrolyzer production processes. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Fremont facility.

What you'll do
- Create predictive and prescriptive models to increase yield, decrease scrap rates, and optimize cycle times.
- Design anomaly detection systems and statistical process control frameworks to track production health.
- Use machine learning methods such as regression, classification, clustering, and time-series forecasting on large sensor and production datasets.
- Examine intricate manufacturing sequences to pinpoint bottlenecks and determine the root causes of process variation.
- Collaborate with process engineers to turn data findings into tangible operational gains.
- Support Digital Transformation and Lean / Six Sigma initiatives by identifying automation and analytics opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in statistics, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in advanced analytics or data science.
- Proven background working within high-volume manufacturing settings like semiconductors, automotive, chemicals, medical devices, or electronics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must possess manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.

Practical notes
Salary range: $112,300.00 - $161,700.00 per year. Compensation is determined by individual skills and experience.
