Software Engineer - Infrastructure

About the role

Blend builds cloud banking software that handles over 5 billion dollars in daily loan volume for clients like Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank. This position focuses on platform engineering, where you will build internal tools and manage the infrastructure that allows our developers to deploy code efficiently and securely.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage Kubernetes EKS clusters at scale, including autoscaling, multi-tenant security, and zero-downtime upgrades.
• Create and maintain infrastructure as code using industry standards.
• Build and improve internal developer platforms and operational workflows.
• Join a 24x7 on-call rotation to handle service incidents and escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Platform, SRE, or Infrastructure roles.
• Significant production experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Demonstrated ability to write and manage Terraform in production environments, including module design and state management.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language, preferably Go, though TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Rust, or C++ are acceptable.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider, with AWS preferred.
• History of shipping and supporting internal tools or developer infrastructure at scale.

Practical notes

• Base salary range is 129,000 to 152,000 dollars, depending on location, level, and experience.
• Compensation includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses and Restricted Stock Units in NYSE: BLND.
