Technical Storyteller

About the role

Blacksmith is looking for a content expert to establish and lead our technical storytelling efforts. You will transform complex engineering work into engaging content for a developer audience. This role involves creating a content strategy from the ground up and executing it across various platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop and manage a content production system to consistently turn engineering work and product launches into high-quality technical content.
• Craft launch strategies and narratives for new products and features, collaborating closely with the Product team to streamline the process.
• Identify and capture compelling customer success stories, interviewing engineering teams to highlight their achievements and impact.
• Establish the benchmark for technical content in our industry through in-depth analyses, performance comparisons, and thought-provoking essays.
• Produce content across diverse formats, including blog posts, videos, documentation, changelogs, and conference presentations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience creating content for a technical audience, such as in developer media, technical content marketing, DevRel, or engineering journalism.
• A portfolio of published work that has achieved significant reach or recognition within technical communities.
• A deep understanding of technical concepts, enabling credible and accurate content creation.
• The ability to extract compelling narratives from engineers and technical documentation.
• A distinctive writing style that conveys a clear point of view.
• Strong awareness of current trends and discussions within developer communities and social platforms.
• The capacity to work independently, defining content priorities and strategies without direct management.
