APAC Controller & Vertical Finance Lead

About the role

This position oversees financial operations and controllership for multiple APAC legal entities. You will manage regional reporting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning while acting as a key business partner to leadership.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage end-to-end finance operations including month-end and year-end closing across various jurisdictions.
• Oversee bank, asset, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations alongside accounts payable and receivable.
• Validate accounting records, accruals, and payment requests to ensure financial accuracy.
• Coordinate statutory, tax, and regulatory filings with internal teams and external providers.
• Lead external audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors and tax advisors.
• Direct annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for the APAC vertical.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic business decisions.
• Implement process improvements and automation to increase reporting efficiency.
• Mentor and lead a regional team of finance professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in controllership, financial accounting, FP&A, or audit.
• Proven track record in a multinational, listed company, fintech, or high-growth tech environment.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, tax filings, and general ledger operations.
• Experience managing financial operations across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-level ERP and consolidation systems.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA, or an MBA/Master degree.
• Mandarin language skills for cross-regional collaboration.
• Background in digital assets, blockchain, or Web3.
