About the role
Benchling is seeking a strategic leader to guide our deal strategy and order management team. This role is central to revenue growth, new product launches, financial oversight, and cross-departmental collaboration. You will advise sales on deal strategy, help implement new pricing, and improve team operations.

What you'll do
- Advise enterprise account executives and sales leadership on structuring and pricing complex agreements.
- Guide the global deal strategy and order management team, ensuring smooth operations for the sales field.
- Lead the implementation of new pricing and packaging strategies and enhance the CPQ system.
- Oversee deal progression from quote to clean, booked revenue, focusing on operational excellence and efficiency.
Requirements
- 10+ years in Deal Desk, Revenue/Sales Operations, Commercial Strategy, or Finance, including experience leading and scaling a team, preferably in high-growth B2B enterprise SaaS or life-sciences software.
- Proven ability to advise on and close complex enterprise agreements while maintaining commercial standards.
- Strong understanding of SaaS bookings policy, revenue, subscription, and consumption/usage-based models.
- Excellent cross-functional partnership skills, including communication and relationship building across Sales, Finance, Product, and Legal.
- Practical knowledge of CPQ tools and processes (e.g., Salesforce/Steelbrick) and their integration within a quote-to-cash stack (e.g., NetSuite, Gong).
- Experience improving processes and automating SaaS deal and order workflows to balance control and speed.
Nice to have
- Experience managing or co-managing a CPQ implementation or major quote-to-cash systems initiative.
- Background in structuring consumption/usage-based deals (commits, ramps, overages, true-ups) for recurring revenue.
- Experience with pricing governance, including discount authority matrices and approval hierarchies, across a global deal portfolio.
- Prior success operationalizing pricing and packaging changes within an active sales organization.
- Familiarity with cloud marketplace (AWS/GCP/Azure) private offers, reseller/partner billing, and international/EMEA deal specifics.
- Proficiency in BI/SQL/spreadsheets for converting deal data into actionable insights.
