About the role

BCforward is hiring a Software Engineer V to focus on distributed systems and backend infrastructure. You will contribute to the development of high-performance technology products while working alongside a team of experienced engineers.

• Create and refine high-performance applications using C++.
• Construct and improve backend systems designed for scalability.
• Implement asynchronous programming methods and manage memory usage.
• Apply horizontal scaling strategies to backend infrastructure.

• Coordinate with other engineering groups to produce software.
• Engage in architecture planning, code evaluations, and technical meetings.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, though 7+ years may be accepted if qualifications are strong.
• Advanced proficiency in C++.
• Practical experience working with distributed systems.
• Mastery of asynchronous programming.
• Deep knowledge of multithreading, memory management, and pointers.
• Background in creating scalable backend systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid grasp of core software engineering and programming principles.

Nice to have

• Background in Natural Language Processing.
• Experience with conversational AI or voice assistant platforms like Alexa.
• Prior work history at large-scale consumer technology firms.
