Data Scientist

About the role

Battelle is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) business line. You will work directly at a client facility to apply machine learning and data engineering to high-priority national security missions.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement machine learning models, statistical methods, and data engineering workflows to support science and technology objectives.
• Identify, collect, and analyze multi-source data to create actionable intelligence for quick-turn tasks.
• Propose and execute original solutions for unique data science challenges, including finding new data sources and exploitation techniques.
• Manage projects independently and within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring work products are high-quality and meet budget and schedule requirements.
• Assess and report on scientific topics, including technology readiness levels (TRL) and critical technology elements (CTE).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, Master's degree with 5+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Experience with data collection, assembly, and analysis across diverse datasets including open-source, network, and science and technology information.
• Experience with data pipeline automation, database management, and repository maintenance.
• Experience working within defense, intelligence, or national security programs.
