This role involves shaping financial strategy for Baseten's growth initiatives. You will work closely with GTM leadership, influencing decisions on pricing, margins, and overall business model. This position offers broad exposure to company building within a rapidly expanding AI infrastructure firm.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the GTM organization.
• Develop and maintain financial models for revenue, sales and marketing expenses, headcount, and strategic investments.
• Analyze key metrics for usage-based businesses, such as annual recurring revenue, gross margin, consumption patterns, customer retention, and GTM efficiency.
• Collaborate with GTM leaders to establish targets, assess growth opportunities, refine pricing strategies, and design sales compensation plans.
• Assist in preparing materials for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising efforts.
• Enhance financial reporting, dashboards, and operational discipline to support revenue growth.
• Translate complex business questions into clear, actionable insights through cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of experience in strategic finance at a high-growth company, private equity/venture capital investing, or investment banking.
• Proven financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to distill complex information into concise recommendations for executive leadership.
• Comfortable adapting to various tasks in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong focus on detail, with a drive for ownership and execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High intellectual curiosity and interest in AI, infrastructure, and developer tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.

Nice to have

• Background in sales finance or sales compensation.
• Prior experience in AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, or SaaS.
• Familiarity with usage-based business models.
