Senior Associate, Marketing & Growth
About the role
Axios Live seeks a skilled marketer to drive audience expansion and engagement for its Essential events. This position will manage the entire attendee lifecycle, from initial outreach and CRM strategy through to registration, ongoing interaction, and performance analysis, developing scalable programs to cultivate valuable audiences and foster lasting connections.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Direct the full spectrum of lifecycle marketing for Axios Live Essential events, covering audience acquisition, registration, engagement, retention, and repeat attendance.
- Create automated, behavior-based marketing sequences to personalize attendee experiences before, during, and after each event.
- Design nurture programs for distinct audience groups, including newsletter subscribers, past attendees, sponsors, partners, Axios Pro members, and prospective attendees.
- Develop strategies to increase repeat attendance, build audience loyalty, and enhance long-term audience value.
- Lead audience acquisition efforts for Axios local and national events.
- Implement multi-channel marketing campaigns using email, paid social, organic social, house advertisements, newsletter promotions, partner marketing, and referral initiatives.
- Oversee paid advertising campaigns on Meta, LinkedIn, and other platforms to effectively grow registrations and attract qualified attendees.
- Continuously refine acquisition performance through audience targeting, creative testing, and conversion analysis.
- Manage and execute email marketing strategies for Axios Live Essential events.
- Develop campaign schedules, messaging plans, and promotional timelines aligned with event goals.
- Build targeted audience segments based on engagement and behavioral data to improve personalization and conversion rates.
- Draft, review, and send all event-related emails, including invitations, speaker announcements, registration confirmations, reminders, pre-event information, post-event follow-ups, and thank-you messages.
- Collaborate with Editorial and Event Leads to craft messaging that aligns with Axios' editorial voice while maximizing audience interest.
- Develop and maintain audience profiles across various industries, executive functions, and geographic regions.
- Lead audience segmentation initiatives to identify high-value groups and enhance campaign targeting.
- Analyze registration trends, attendance patterns, and audience composition to inform future marketing strategies.
- Provide recommendations to improve audience quality, diversity, and sustained growth.
- Create and maintain centralized marketing dashboards to track campaign performance across all Axios Live events.
- Monitor registrations, attendance, engagement, conversion rates, and marketing channel effectiveness.
- Translate data insights into practical recommendations for stakeholders.
- Design and conduct A/B tests to improve registration conversion, email engagement, and audience acquisition.
- Produce regular reports measuring the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, channels, and event portfolios.
- Act as the primary marketing contact for Axios Live essential events.
- Work closely with Events, Editorial, Partnerships, Design, and Audience Development teams throughout campaign planning and execution.
- Lead weekly marketing update meetings, presenting registration performance, audience insights, campaign priorities, and strategic suggestions to internal teams.
- Ensure an audience-centric approach is integrated into all aspects of event planning.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or event marketing.
- Proven experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across email, paid media, and owned channels.
- Solid understanding of lifecycle marketing principles, customer journey mapping, and marketing automation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing audience segmentation and personalization strategies.
- Experience managing paid social campaigns with a focus on audience acquisition and conversion.
- Strong analytical abilities with a track record of interpreting campaign performance and audience data.
- Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Exceptional written communication abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience with Sailthru or comparable marketing automation platforms.
- Familiarity with CRM and CDP platforms such as HubSpot or Segment.
- Experience utilizing AI tools to enhance marketing workflows, personalization, or campaign optimization.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email marketing.
- Experience marketing conferences, live events, or media products.

- Salary range: $31.25 - $38.46 per hour.
- This role is remote.
