Join a rapidly expanding AI company as the VP of People, leading our talent and culture initiatives. You will shape the employee experience for a diverse, global team, ensuring a supportive and high-performing environment. This role involves setting the strategic direction for people programs and directly managing a portion of the People team.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define and track people engagement metrics, ensuring data leads to actionable improvements.
- Oversee the entire performance management cycle, from goal setting to reviews and feedback.
- Manage the learning and development platform, including program selection, rollout, and impact assessment.
- Guide talent development and career progression for employees and managers.
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach, providing guidance on employee relations and organizational development.
- Lead change management processes, supporting leaders through transitions.
- Analyze people data to inform decisions and measure program effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws across all operating locations.
- Establish the operating model for people advisory and culture work, prioritizing resources and measuring success.
- Ensure a positive employee experience from daily interactions to significant milestones.
- Collaborate with Office & Community to foster cohesion through office environments and company events.
- Maintain a visible and proactive presence, engaging in informal conversations and understanding employee sentiment.
- Ensure consistent culture and connection for all employees, regardless of work location.
- Proactively address employee concerns to create an inclusive work environment.
- Model company values and culture, aligning all people practices.
- Lead key culture and talent projects to support company growth.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior HR Business Partner role, preferably within a fast-paced tech scale-up.
- Proven ability to build and implement employee culture and engagement programs.
- Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning in a growing company.
- Demonstrated ability to foster connections across both in-office and distributed teams.
- Experience managing and developing a team.
- Strong coaching and counseling abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a genuine people-centric approach.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust across all organizational levels.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment with minimal structural support.
- Strong strategic thinking, high energy, warmth, and a proactive, hands-on mindset.
- Fluency in English.
- Tech-savvy with experience using AI tools for efficiency.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience delivering learning programs and team effectiveness initiatives.
- Knowledge of European labor law, especially in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, UK, Italy, and Switzerland.
- Fluency in German.

Practical notes
This role requires regular travel to the Eindhoven office three days a week and to Zurich 3-4 days a month. Additional travel to other office locations may be discussed.
