About the role

Aurelian develops AI software to assist 911 dispatch centers by automating non-emergency call handling and providing real-time guidance for emergency responses. We are seeking a senior engineer to take full responsibility for product outcomes, working directly with users to identify and solve critical public safety challenges.

What you'll do

• Identify and prioritize product needs by engaging directly with 911 dispatchers and administrators.
• Manage your own roadmap and make trade-off decisions without a dedicated product manager.
• Develop and deploy features across the entire stack, including AI call handling, dispatcher interfaces, and data integrations.
• Visit dispatch centers to observe software usage and gather context for future development.
• Take full accountability for the success and impact of the features you build.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to own features or products from initial concept through to final delivery.
• Technical proficiency across both frontend and backend systems.
• Strong focus on user outcomes and problem-solving rather than purely technical implementation.
• Ability to thrive in a customer-facing role and translate user feedback into actionable code.
