Staff Product Engineer

About the role

Aurelian develops AI solutions like AVA and CORA to assist 911 centers in managing high call volumes and emergency response protocols. We are looking for a Staff Product Engineer to take full ownership of product outcomes by engaging directly with dispatchers and administrators. You will operate without traditional product managers, defining roadmaps and shipping solutions that improve public safety infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Identify and solve critical user problems by speaking directly with 911 dispatchers and PSAP administrators.
• Manage the full product lifecycle, including roadmap definition, prioritization, and feature development.
• Build and deploy software across the entire stack, ranging from AI call-handling systems to analytics and integrations.
• Visit dispatch centers to observe product usage and gather context for future development.
• Communicate progress and strategy across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to own features or products from conception to completion.
• Proficiency across the full stack, with the ability to contribute to both frontend and backend systems.
• Strong focus on user outcomes and problem-solving over purely technical implementation.
• Ability to empathize with end-users and translate their needs into functional software.
