About the role
Join a new Solutions Engineering team dedicated to Asana's Command product, which helps software development teams improve planning and execution. This role involves working directly with customers to showcase how Command can modernize their workflows and reduce delays. You will be instrumental in shaping the go-to-market strategy for this innovative product.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead technical validation for Command opportunities with mid-market and enterprise accounts, from initial discovery to product demonstration and closing.
- Gain a deep understanding of product development processes, including sprint planning, delivery estimation, and bug management, and demonstrate how Command integrates with these workflows.
- Translate customer challenges into effective solution designs and articulate business value to engineering leaders and other stakeholders.
- Conduct technical discovery, whiteboard sessions, and customized product demos, positioning Asana within a customer's existing tech environment.
- Provide guidance on solution architecture, integrations, administrative considerations, and deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with existing Asana Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, and Solutions Engineers to identify and support expansion opportunities.
- Create reusable demo assets, solution patterns, technical materials, and feedback mechanisms to support the broader sales organization.
- Collect and relay customer feedback, objections, and product gaps to Product, Product Marketing, and Sales leadership to influence product roadmap and strategy.
- Deliver technical training and best practices to the revenue organization to improve conversations with engineering buyers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, or similar client-facing technical roles.
- Strong understanding of engineering and product development team roles, including their workflows, operational issues, and daily tools.
- Solid grasp of AI coding agents and their role in modern development teams, along with technical concepts like API/MCP, data structures, permissions, and automation.
- Excellent discovery skills to uncover customer workflows, technical limitations, decision criteria, and success metrics before proposing solutions.
- Proficiency in designing and delivering product demonstrations, workshops, and whiteboard sessions for both technical and executive audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with various internal teams to achieve customer outcomes.
- Comfortable operating in early-stage product motions where messaging, capabilities, and playbooks are still developing.
- Adaptability, intellectual curiosity, and a strong builder mentality.
Nice to have
- Experience with engineering tools in categories such as Project & Issue Management, Agile Planning, AI Coding Agents, IDE, CI/CD.
- Background in supporting conversations about replacing or migrating from older enterprise software.
- Comfort with modern sales and demo tools, and with creating scalable technical content for a growing field organization.
