What you'll do

• Lead the materials management team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective procurement and planning processes.
• Develop and implement strategies for sourcing raw materials and components necessary for biotherapeutic production, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to align material needs with production schedules and project timelines.
• Analyze inventory levels and forecast demand to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize costs while ensuring timely availability of materials.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
• Utilize advanced inventory management systems and tools to track materials, manage orders, and streamline procurement processes.
• Prepare and present reports on material availability, procurement activities, and inventory status to senior management, providing insights for decision-making.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the materials management function, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in materials management, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance Artivabio's supply chain capabilities.
• Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the materials management department.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to materials procurement and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on market trends and inventory levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the biotech industry is highly desirable.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.

Nice to have

• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, ISM) is advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly those used in the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
• Previous experience in a startup or rapidly growing company is a plus.
• Understanding of biotherapeutics manufacturing processes and requirements.
