Software Engineer - Python

About the role

Artera is building AI-powered medical tests to tailor cancer therapies. We are seeking a Software Engineer to construct and refine our core data infrastructure, with a primary focus on revenue cycle and billing systems. This role involves ensuring our systems can manage complex workflows connecting billing platforms, electronic health records, and healthcare partners.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Build and manage secure, scalable cloud solutions on AWS for processing large volumes of data, supporting EHR data intake, AI analysis, and partner connections while adhering to healthcare regulations.
• Convert needs from sales, finance, and customer success teams into defined engineering tasks with clear service level agreements, monitoring, and recovery plans.
• Utilize AI code generation tools and other AI-assisted development methods to speed up development, including writing, reviewing, and improving Python code.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or have equivalent hands-on experience.
• Possess at least 2 years of professional experience developing and operating live software systems.
• Demonstrate strong command of the Python programming language.
• Have a proven track record in designing, developing, and deploying production-ready, highly available cloud software systems, preferably on AWS.
• Experience with Git for version control, CI/CD processes, and automated testing.
• Exhibit excellent written and spoken communication abilities, with the capacity to interact directly with finance departments and external vendors.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS services, particularly ECS.
• Experience working with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience integrating with HL7, FHIR, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
