About the role
In the position of Senior Software Engineer, you will take charge of creating, developing, and sustaining applications and services that operate on container runtimes like Docker. Your collaboration with the DevOps and Infrastructure teams will be crucial to ensure effective and scalable deployment processes. The services you develop will focus on high-performance networking solutions tailored for software-defined networks, telecommunications, and IoT applications.

What you'll do
- Design and maintain microservices and applications primarily using Golang.
- Create features for dynamic network management, such as automatic failover, load balancing, and path selection based on real-time network conditions.
- Set up monitoring and alerting systems to guarantee high availability and performance for deployed SD-WAN services.
- Develop scalable APIs and services to facilitate network automation, policy enforcement, and optimized traffic routing.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters and applications.
- Apply best practices for CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging.
- Write thorough tests to ensure the reliability and stability of your code.
- Keep current with the latest trends and technologies in software-defined networks, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers through technical leadership, code/design reviews, and documentation of best practices.
Requirements
- Over 7 years of experience in backend development.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing applications using Golang, with a strong ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Proven ability to drive system design for complex, end-to-end microservice interactions to create robust automation and anomaly detection frameworks for SD-WAN devices.
- Practical experience with Docker and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with client-go and the Kubernetes API.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, as well as logging tools such as the ELK stack.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, with hands-on experience with network hardware like routers, switches, and radios.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN architecture and smart networking principles.
- Strong analytical skills and capability to debug complex issues, particularly at the network layer.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Compensation
For candidates based in the U.S., the starting base salary for this role ranges from $157,600 to $197,000, depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, equity and subsidized benefits will also be provided (details available upon request).
