About the role
ArcheSys Inc. is looking for a Junior Cloud Engineer to join our team. This position is fully remote and involves working closely with public sector clients to deliver cloud solutions. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and providing technical support to ensure optimal service delivery.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Assist in the setup and ongoing maintenance of cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS services.
- Support the development and deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Help automate deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Contribute to the optimization of system performance and resource utilization.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Collaborate with various teams to integrate applications and provide technical support.
- Implement monitoring solutions to ensure system health and proactively identify issues.
- Participate in incident response efforts to restore services during outages.
- Document procedures and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on cloud technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Certification in at least one cloud platform, such as AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Associate).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in government consulting.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Experience with scripting languages, including Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with effective communication abilities.
Nice to have
- Additional certifications in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, such as Docker Certified Associate or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
- Experience in a client-facing role or management consulting is a plus.
