About the role

You will own the design and implementation of critical business applications that underpin core investment operations at AQR. This position places you at the center of treasury, trade matching, settlement, portfolio accounting, and fund performance workflows. You will collaborate directly with operations professionals to deeply understand their challenges and translate them into robust technical solutions. Your work will involve architecting systems that ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability for high-stakes financial processes. You will also have significant influence over the future state of the technology stack that powers these functions. The role requires a balance of hands-on development and strategic technical planning. You will be responsible for delivering solutions that stand up to rigorous testing and support the firm's long-term investment objectives. Your contributions will be integral to maintaining the operational integrity that AQR depends on.

What you'll do

Develop and maintain business applications that support treasury management, trade matching, and settlement processes.

Design and implement solutions for portfolio accounting and fund performance reporting that deliver accurate and timely insights.

Collaborate with operations teams to define future-state technology architectures and improve existing workflows.

Leverage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS to build scalable and resilient systems.

Write high-quality code using C# for backend services and JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend user interfaces.

Implement user interfaces using frameworks such as Angular to create responsive and intuitive operational tools.

Integrate applications with SQL and No-SQL databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.

Utilize AI development tooling to enhance application capabilities and automate complex operational tasks.

Work within a version control environment using systems such as Git to manage code changes and collaboration.

Apply software development best practices to ensure code reliability, maintainability, and security.

Support the debugging and analytical processes required to resolve issues in production environments.

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and operational technology roadmaps.

Act as a key technical contributor in a small, highly productive engineering team.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Possess 4 years of work experience building web applications using C# and JavaScript/TypeScript.

Demonstrate experience with Angular or other modern web frameworks.

Show familiarity with cloud providers, with AWS experience being a particular advantage.

Have experience with AI development tooling as a beneficial skill for the role.

Have knowledge of SQL and/or No-SQL databases.

Show outstanding coding, debugging, and analytical skills in complex scenarios.

Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Have hands-on experience with Source and Version control systems such as Git.

Be familiar with software development best practices and agile methodologies.

Skills in automated testing and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.

Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools for cloud-native applications.

Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation.

Practical notes

This is a full-time position based in Bengaluru.

The engagement is full-time with no travel requirements.
