About the role
The defines the operational workflows and end-to-end user experiences that govern how humanoid robots are deployed in the real world. This role owns the design of complex, real-world workflows and the navigation of ambiguous operational needs that arise during deployment. You will shape how users interact with physical robotic systems, ensuring that the experience is coherent, efficient, and trustworthy from initiation to completion. A core part of this position involves creating and maintaining design artifacts that bridge the gap between technical constraints and human-centered goals. You will work closely with product and engineering teams on a daily basis, aligning design decisions with outcomes such as usability, conversion, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong commitment to using design as a strategic tool for operational clarity and system reliability. You will be responsible for establishing a living design system that keeps robotic applications consistent and scalable across diverse use cases.

What you'll do
Analyze end-to-end user workflows involving physical products, operational systems, and multi-touchpoint experiences to uncover friction and opportunity.
Design workflow maps, storyboards, behavioral definitions, prototypes, and future-state concepts that clarify complex robotic interactions.
Conduct evaluative and generative research to identify workflow assumptions, operational risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Critically analyze user mental models, communication clarity, trust, onboarding, and operational usability within robotic deployment scenarios.
Synthesize insights from UX Research to translate user behaviors, operational needs, and experience quality into clear design requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams to ensure that workflows, product requirements, and operational assumptions evolve coherently.
Maintain a design system that supports rapid iteration and consistency across fast-moving operational environments.
Translate ambiguous operational needs into structured design artifacts that guide product and engineering decisions.
Support usability testing, evaluative research, and operational validation workflows to confirm that designs function in the real world.
Apply systems thinking and service design principles to architecture workflows that integrate hardware, software, and human interaction.
Communicate design rationale and process clearly to stakeholders, balancing depth of thinking with clarity for non-design audiences.
Adapt quickly to rapidly changing workflows, product requirements, and operational constraints without compromising experience quality.
Contribute to prototyping efforts for both physical and digital touchpoints to explore and validate robotic interaction concepts.
Leverage service design, operational workflow design, and cross-touchpoint experience design to create coherent robotic journeys.
Demonstrate mastery in human-robot interaction concepts, behavioral systems, and embodied interaction design through practical design outputs.
Requirements
Bring 6+ years of cumulative experience in UX design, service design, workflow design, interaction design, or other experience-focused disciplines.
Have designed end-to-end workflows that involve physical products, operational systems, or multi-touchpoint user experiences in complex environments.
Critically analyze user mental models, communication clarity, trust, onboarding, and operational usability within deployment and usage scenarios.
Create design artifacts such as workflow maps, storyboards, behavioral definitions, prototypes, and future-state concepts that guide implementation.
Contribute to evaluative and generative research efforts that surface workflow assumptions, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Understand and interpret user behaviors, operational needs, and experience quality across deployment and usage scenarios using UX Research methods.
Thrive in fast-moving environments where workflows, product requirements, and operational assumptions evolve rapidly.
Hold a Bachelor's degree as a required qualification for this role.
Be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, as visa support is not available for this position.
Be capable of performing some physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds when necessary.
Be prepared for emergency response duties that may occur outside normal business hours as part of operational readiness.
