Applied is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join their Motorsport division in Woking, Surrey. This permanent role centers on delivering hands-on technical support and application expertise to motorsport customers across the United Kingdom and internationally. What you'll do
Provide on-site technical support to motorsport teams during testing sessions and race events at various circuits across the UK.
Collaborate with engineering departments to configure and optimize product setups for specific racing applications and demanding trackside environments.
Travel regularly to customer facilities and race tracks to diagnose issues and deliver hands-on solutions in person.
Collect performance data from trackside sessions and relay findings back to the engineering and product teams promptly.
Develop and maintain technical relationships with motorsport clients to understand their evolving application requirements over time.
Assist in the commissioning of new equipment at client sites, ensuring proper installation and operational readiness before events.
Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing field observations, customer feedback, and recommendations for product improvements and future development.
Support the sales team by demonstrating product capabilities and addressing technical questions from prospective motorsport customers directly.
Coordinate with manufacturing and design teams to communicate field insights that influence future product development decisions and roadmaps.
Troubleshoot product performance issues in real time, offering immediate guidance and corrective measures to racing engineers on site.
Monitor product performance during live race events, identifying any anomalies and coordinating with the technical support team for rapid resolution.

Requirements
Hold a degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
Possess a genuine interest in motorsport and a willingness to attend race events as part of the regular work duties.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple sites.
Be comfortable with frequent domestic and international travel, including extended periods away from the home office for weeks at a time.
Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team in fast-paced and demanding settings.
Show proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and performance data to guide customer-facing decisions and practical recommendations.
Bring hands-on mechanical aptitude and a practical approach to diagnosing and resolving hardware-related issues in the field.
Maintain a valid driving license, as the role requires regular travel between client sites and various race venues throughout the year.
