Korean Linguistic Consultant - Voice Recording Support - On-Site

About the role

This role involves providing linguistic guidance for Korean voice recording sessions. You will assist a voice artist in a studio setting, ensuring the quality and consistency of their speech. The recorded data will be used for training AI systems.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Understand the client's specific speech requirements, including conversational style, consistent pace, natural intonation, and clear pronunciation at the phrase level.
• Maintain the client's reference speech style throughout all recording sessions.
• Correct the voice artist if they deviate from the expected standard and ensure overall consistency.
• Identify and address pronunciation or delivery issues at the phoneme, word, or phrase level, providing feedback and ensuring necessary retakes.
• Review the pronunciation of non-Korean words or phrases, ensuring clarity while maintaining appropriate native-language influence.
• Work closely with the recording engineer and voice artist to ensure linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and adherence to recording guidelines.
• Modify recording scripts as needed to ensure grammatical, syntactic, and semantic correctness while preserving the original meaning and objectives.

Requirements

• Full availability on-site in Seoul from August 17-28 (excluding August 18 and 23), 1-5 PM KST, with a possible additional session on August 29.
• Native-level proficiency in Korean and fluent English.
• Strong understanding of Korean phonetics, pronunciation, grammar, and prosody.
• Demonstrated experience in voice coaching, particularly in marketing, commercial, or dubbing contexts.
• Experience supporting speech data collection, TTS/ASR, speech technology, or voice AI projects.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with an international team.

• Background in speech technology and voice AI (TTS/ASR data collection, training virtual assistants).
• Experience in entertainment and media (dubbing, animation, film/TV voiceover, audiobook narration).
• Experience in broadcasting and radio.
• Background in advertising (commercial voiceover).
• Experience in theater and performing arts.
• Experience in corporate training and public speaking coaching (accent/clarity training).
• Background in language learning and ELT (pronunciation coaching).
• Experience in speech-language pathology (accent modification, speech therapy).
