About the role
You will own the end-to-end integration and test strategy for Apex satellite bus programs, translating design intent into flight-ready hardware. This role places you at the critical junction where engineering analysis, physical test, and production processes converge to de-risk the spacecraft. You will define how we verify that each bus meets its stringent system requirements and performs reliably in the harsh environment of space. You will establish the test evidence that proves flight readiness to internal and external stakeholders. Your work will directly influence the confidence we place in every mission we send to orbit. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in how we validate our products. You will communicate complex technical status clearly and persuasively to both technical and executive audiences. Through your efforts, you will ensure that Apex spacecraft consistently exceed the expectations of our customers.

What you'll do
Define and own the system integration and test strategy for spacecraft bus programs from early design through flight.
Develop, review, and approve detailed system-level test procedures that comprehensively verify key performance indicators and acceptance criteria.
Lead the execution of component and system-level functional and performance testing across multiple bus configurations.
Analyze complex test data, identify root causes of anomalies, and lead resolution activities with engineering and production teams.
Drive continuous improvement in test methods, automation, and test equipment in collaboration with test engineering and production teams.
Own and maintain component and system-level verification artifacts, test reports, and compliance documentation for internal and customer audit.
Support spacecraft qualification, acceptance, and flight readiness reviews as a technical lead and evidence provider.
Collaborate closely with production, test, quality, and vehicle engineering to align test objectives with manufacturing and delivery goals.
Communicate system status, risks, and issues clearly and proactively to stakeholders including engineering, production, and mission management.
Engage directly with customers to share test results, anomalies, and status in a clear and methodical manner.
Implement traceability between system requirements, test cases, and verification results to ensure complete coverage.
Evaluate emerging test tools and processes and advocate for adoption where they improve quality and throughput.
Champion best practices for verification and validation across the satellite bus product line.
Serve as the primary technical interface for system-level testing during critical project milestones.
Promote a culture of rigorous testing and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Requirements
Must be a US person.
Hold a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
Possess 2+ years of direct experience with spacecraft system integration, test, and qualification activities.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of satellite subsystems and how they interact at the system level.
Exhibit strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills for internal and external customer-facing discussions.
Show proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Display meticulous attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation and compliance.
Be comfortable working with limited guidance and taking ownership of ambiguous problems.
Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration across engineering, production, and quality functions.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical status to diverse audiences.
Be willing to travel as required for project needs, including potential visits to customer or supplier sites.
Be eligible to obtain security clearance if required for specific contract positions.
Be capable of working in the United States full-time without sponsorship.
Nice to have
Prior experience with flight hardware or ground testbeds such as FlatSat that validate satellite bus functionality.
Familiarity with formal root cause analysis methods such as fishbone diagrams, common cause analyses, and fault trees.
Hands-on experience operating in a production or high-rate manufacturing environment.
Experience with spacecraft thermal, power, or communications subsystems.
Knowledge of requirements management tools and verification traceability methods.
Background in implementing test automation for mechanical or electrical test systems.
Experience supporting customer test campaigns or launch campaigns.
Practical notes
This role operates from our Los Angeles office during standard business hours. Occasional after-hours testing may be required to meet critical milestones. Travel may be required up to 25 percent of the time for project duties. Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
