Lead Mission Integration Engineer at apex-technology-inc.
About the role
This role involves directing the end-to-end architecture of spacecraft missions while managing a team focused on system integration. You will split your time equally between technical individual contributor tasks and leadership responsibilities to ensure successful mission delivery.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define mission architecture encompassing launch vehicles, ground systems, and spacecraft based on client needs
- Manage mission analysis, including trajectory planning, orbital mechanics, and deployment strategies
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers and lead mission readiness reviews
- Oversee technical evaluations such as thermal analysis, coupled loads analysis, and electromagnetic compatibility
- Coordinate payload integration and create technical roadmaps for upcoming missions
- Assist business development by providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and technical proposals
Requirements
- U.S. Person status for export control compliance
- 8+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, payload integration, or mission integration
- 2+ years of experience in a senior technical or leadership role managing engineering teams
- Bachelor degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in mission analysis software including Python, MATLAB, GMAT, FreeFlyer, and STK
- Background in CubeSat, small satellite, or rideshare integration across various vehicle classes
Nice to have
- Experience with space communications protocols like X-band, S-band, or CCSDS
- Knowledge of embedded systems and flight software
- Background in reliability engineering and system-level failure mode and effects analysis
- Prior leadership experience in satellite manufacturing or launch vehicle engineering
