About the role
Apex is looking for a Launch Engineer to manage the integration of satellite buses with launch providers and lead campaign operations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for external partners while establishing internal processes for reliable vehicle deployment. Key facts
What you'll do
- Coordinate payload integration between our satellites and launch vehicles.
- Define mission requirements, interface specifications, and integration timelines with launch partners.
- Create and manage launch plans, procedures, and readiness documentation.
- Supervise the transport, handling, and pre-launch processing of hardware at launch sites.
- Verify mechanical, electrical, and environmental compatibility between the satellite and the launch vehicle.
- Support environmental qualification testing including vibration, thermal vacuum, and EMI/EMC.
- Perform system-level checkouts and troubleshoot issues during countdowns and pre-launch operations.
- Manage regulatory approvals and ensure compliance with international standards, specifically AFSPCMAN 91-710.
- Provide technical support and anomaly resolution during live launch campaigns.
- Partner with internal mechanical, avionics, and systems teams to improve integration workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production scheduling within aerospace or manufacturing.
- Prior experience managing launch campaigns and working directly with launch vehicle providers.
- Hands-on background in satellite integration, testing, and environmental qualification.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple dependencies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing tight timelines.
