Group Manager, Strategic Sourcing

About the role

Apex Technology is scaling the production of satellite buses to meet the growing demand for commercial spacecraft. We are looking for a leader to direct our procurement organization and manage a team of global supply managers. This role is based at our production facility and requires a hands-on approach to ensure our supply chain supports our manufacturing goals.

What you'll do

• Supervise and mentor a team of global supply managers handling direct and indirect materials.
• Create procurement strategies that align with production scaling and new product introductions.
• Manage supplier relationships to improve cost, delivery, and risk management.
• Coordinate with inventory and planning departments to maintain material flow.
• Execute sourcing tasks including RFQs, contract negotiations, and long-term agreements.
• Oversee supplier performance and implement corrective measures for quality or service issues.
• Work with engineering and quality teams to approve new suppliers and materials.
• Ensure the supply base can handle increasing production volumes.
• Identify cost savings without sacrificing quality or schedule.
• Maintain compliance with ITAR and FAR regulations.
• Report procurement KPIs to leadership and improve ERP data integrity.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident) to meet ITAR requirements.
• 10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
• 3+ years of experience in a management role within supply chain or procurement.
• Bachelor degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in aerospace or automotive industries.
• Background in supporting production ramps and new product launches.
• Proficiency with MRP and ERP systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
