Assistant Facility Security Officer at apex-technology-inc.
About the role
Apex Technology manufactures scalable satellite buses to support the growing demand for commercial spacecraft. This role assists the Director of Security in managing classified program requirements and maintaining facility accreditation for our manufacturing and engineering operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Support the security program by ensuring compliance with USG standards for CUI and compartmented data.
- Manage day-to-day classified activities including document control, visit requests, and access rosters.
- Oversee personnel clearances and conduct audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Participate in the Insider Threat Program through training and reporting.
- Prepare for DCSA and sponsoring agency inspections and audits.
- Provide security training, perform physical security assessments, and respond to incidents.
- Monitor facility access control and alarm systems in accordance with UL 2050 and DoD standards.
- Maintain Technology Control Plans and assist with export-controlled workflows.
- Serve as the backup for the FSO regarding government interface and daily operations.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship with an active TS or TS/SCI eligibility.
- 3+ years of experience in DoD and IC security with increasing responsibility.
- Proficiency with NISPOM, SAP, SCI, and related security regulations.
- Hands-on experience with DISS, NBIS, NISS, and DD Form 254.
- DCSA/CDSE Certified FSO.
- Ability to resolve complex clearance issues and communicate effectively with management.
Nice to have
- Bachelor degree in Security Management, Information Security, or a related field.
- NCMS Industrial Security Professional certification.
- Experience with SCIF construction and ICD 705 specifications.
- Background as a COMSEC Manager.
- Professional history in aerospace or defense contracting.
