Staff+ Software Engineer, Enterprise

About the role

This position anchors the Enterprise team, which focuses on scaling Claude for large organizations with complex needs. You will design systems that allow Fortune 500 companies to deploy AI to thousands of employees while managing high-stakes requirements in security, governance, and permissions.

What you'll do

• Architect multi-year technical strategies, focusing on multi-cloud and distributed system deployments.
• Lead high-impact engineering initiatives that span multiple internal teams.
• Act as a primary technical decision-maker for architectural choices across the organization.
• Collaborate with Inference, Platform, Customer Success, Infrastructure, and Safeguards teams to align on security, privacy, and product goals.
• Mentor Staff-level engineers and provide technical guidance across the department.
• Coordinate with Product and Go-To-Market teams to identify and resolve systemic technical risks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional engineering experience, including a proven track record at the Staff or Senior Staff level.
• Experience shaping technical strategy within large-scale Cloud Service Provider or Enterprise SaaS environments.
• Expertise in distributed systems and API architecture, with a history of writing design documentation and contributing to critical code paths.
• Ability to drive technical outcomes through influence and trust rather than formal authority.
• Deep domain knowledge in enterprise security, identity, compliance, governance, and connectivity.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience in a relevant field.
