Staff+ Software Engineer, Experimentation

About the role

You will lead the technical strategy for configuration and experimentation infrastructure that enables researchers and engineers to safely deploy models and features. This role focuses on building scalable systems for feature flagging, A/B testing, and dynamic configuration to support both production and research workloads.

What you'll do

• Define the roadmap for configuration and experimentation platforms while partnering with deployment and testing teams.
• Architect and maintain systems for feature flagging and dynamic configuration to solve complex technical challenges.
• Build reliable, distributed infrastructure and shared libraries that handle high-volume experimentation workloads.
• Develop tooling and frameworks that allow teams to measure impact and ship configuration changes safely.
• Establish standards for experimentation, including randomization, assignment, and metrics pipelines.

Requirements

• Deep experience with experimentation platforms, feature flagging, or configuration management in large-scale environments.
• Proficiency in Rust, Python, or Go.
• Experience with container orchestration and infrastructure at scale.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Strong communication skills for supporting internal partners and driving technical alignment.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of software engineering experience building developer infrastructure.
• 3+ years of experience leading complex technical projects or teams.
• Experience with tools like Statsig, GrowthBook, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, or Unleash.
• Experience building CLI tools, developer-facing services, and APIs that integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with safe rollout mechanisms such as kill switches, targeting rules, and gradual rollouts.
