Key facts
What you'll do
- Evaluate subcomponent designs for heat transfer and pressure drop using CFD, hand calculations, and internal tools.
- Advise engineers on material selection and initial sizing based on analytical data.
- Document and present results, assumptions, and constraints to internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with test teams to plan instrumentation, review data, and validate models.
- Create internal calculators to help other engineers perform rapid design assessments.
- Provide technical mentorship to team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Experience running CFD models using Star-CCM+, Fluent, or CFX, including conjugate heat transfer and compressible equations of state.
- Proficiency in CAD software like Siemens NX for model defeaturing and design changes.
- Scripting skills in Python, VBA, or MatLab for tool development.
- Must meet ITAR requirements as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Nice to have
