About the role
Antares is seeking a Systems Engineer to ensure product quality from initial design through operation and decommissioning. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to integrate, validate, and verify requirements throughout the reactor's lifecycle. You will focus on the intricate details of product designs and establish processes to guarantee the reliability, safety, and performance of current and future designs.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create and manage reactor requirements based on customer needs, safety rules, and design codes.
- Develop and implement methods for validating analysis techniques.
- Review and create guidelines to ensure adherence to ASME and other relevant design codes.
- Set up and oversee design review processes, including feedback documentation, action item management, and tracking unverified assumptions.
- Perform reliability analyses and risk assessments during product design and development.
- Work with design engineers to integrate reliability and quality into new product designs.
- Identify failure modes and mechanisms, then lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with various teams like design, analysis, manufacturing, and quality assurance to create scalable design processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related field).
- 4+ years of experience, preferably in a design or product development setting.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when critical milestones require it.
- Willingness to travel to customer and mission-related locations as needed.
- Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Engineering.
- Strong understanding of reliability principles, methods, and testing.
- Familiarity with ASME codes and standards.
- Experience with FMEA, FMECA, or other failure mode analysis tools.
- Proficiency in reliability software and statistical analysis packages (e.g., Weibull analysis, Minitab).
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, automotive, aerospace, medical devices).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical groups.
