Job description
Enterprise Software Engineer at antares.
About the role
Antares is seeking an Enterprise Software Engineer to develop the operational foundation for its manufacturing and quality systems. This role involves creating the practical systems and workflows that connect various departments and external suppliers, ensuring smooth physical work execution. You will administer enterprise tools, map business processes, and build automated and AI-driven workflows to enhance efficiency.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Convert requirements from supply chain, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and finance into robust system workflows, data models, and operating procedures.
- Implement AI-enabled workflows to track supplier commitments, purchase order statuses, material readiness, and action items.
- Develop anomaly detection algorithms to identify quality process gaps and prioritize system improvements.
- Build automations using SQL, Python, APIs, low-code tools, RPA, webhooks, or workflow engines to reduce manual tasks and improve visibility.
- Create human-in-the-loop AI workflows for summarizing communications, extracting commitments, and escalating exceptions while maintaining user accountability.
- Manage the daily administration, configuration, and enhancement of supply chain and manufacturing enterprise systems like MES, ERP/MRP, and supplier portals.
- Establish integrations between enterprise systems and collaboration tools such as email, Slack, ticketing systems, and document repositories.
- Maintain master data and system hygiene for suppliers, parts, BOMs, purchase orders, and operational metadata.
- Support the implementation of new tools, including requirements gathering, vendor coordination, testing, training, and post-launch support.
- Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to build workflows for PO release, supplier onboarding, material readiness, inspection, and nonconformance handling.
- Produce process documentation, system runbooks, automation specifications, and training materials for regulated operations.
- Monitor workflow performance and system adoption, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for automation.
- Ensure data quality and manage exceptions for AI workflows to guarantee reliable and auditable outputs.
- Incorporate and expand unit and integration testing for the enterprise software suite.
- Partner with database architects to design and develop ETL pipelines for AI-enabled processing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, math, physics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain systems, manufacturing systems, procurement operations, business systems, operations technology, industrial engineering, or a similar role supporting enterprise workflows.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations due to ITAR regulations.
Nice to have
- Practical experience administering or implementing at least one enterprise operations system (MES, ERP/MRP, procurement, supplier management, inventory, QMS, PLM, or workflow automation platforms).
- Software development experience in a high-level language such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes, including purchase orders, supplier commitments, inventory, and nonconformances.
- Ability to translate operational needs into clear process maps, system requirements, and test plans.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data structures, with experience using Python, APIs, low-code automation, or scripting for system integration.
- Interest in and practical understanding of AI-enabled workflows, including prompt design and human-in-the-loop review.
- Experience with software version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
- Strong documentation habits and attention to data quality in a fast-moving, regulated environment.
