Senior CAD Systems Engineer

About the role

You will lead the Siemens NX CAD environment, focusing on system administration, developing standards, and automating workflows. This role involves improving engineering productivity and ensuring consistent design practices for nuclear microreactors. You will also create and manage complex assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.

What you'll do

• Administer and configure the Siemens NX CAD environment, driving its continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain NX standards, templates, Check-Mate rules, and automation tools to enhance engineering quality.
• Establish and enforce best practices for CAD modeling, drafting, and data management across the engineering team.
• Create and manage large, intricate NX assemblies, ensuring they are accurate and scalable.
• Review and improve CAD models and engineering drawings to meet established standards.
• Collaborate with Responsible Engineers to design mechanical parts, complex assemblies, and high-quality engineering drawings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Siemens NX administration and design within a complex mechanical engineering setting.
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining CAD standards, templates, reusable libraries, Check-Mate rules, and NX automation (e.g., NX Open, journals).
• Expertise in creating manufacturing-ready engineering drawings, applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles.
• Experience administering or supporting Product Data Management (PDM) systems, including managing CAD data, part structures, revisions, and engineering change workflows.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a STEM field.
• 8+ years of Siemens NX experience in complex product development.
• Experience administering enterprise CAD systems, developing CAD standards, and implementing CAD workflows and automation.
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems and engineering release processes.
• Experience developing engineering automation or custom tools using Python, NX Open, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages.
• Background in nuclear, aerospace, robotics, or other highly regulated, high-performance industries.
• Experience supporting hardware development in a fast-paced product development environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to understand complex assemblies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
