Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and implement both front-end and back-end solutions to create AI-driven user experiences that enhance Amazon's shopping platform.
- Develop modern web interfaces that allow engineers and scientists to create, assess, and deploy AI agents, along with the necessary back-end services.
- Create service orchestration patterns and frameworks for efficient agent management, while working closely with team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and service reliability metrics, focusing on the development of intelligent agents capable of complex reasoning and task execution.
- Establish best practices to enhance the efficiency of LLM applications and introduce new AI features for Stores customers.
- Collaborate with technical and business leaders to design and implement large-scale distributed AI applications, while participating in prioritization, estimation, and sprint planning.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
- At least 2 years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a software development engineer role or a similar position.
- At least 1 year of experience in developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of experience in Object-Oriented Design.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Experience in a full-stack development environment.
Nice to have
- Over 3 years of experience in the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Strong skills in developing modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and component-driven architectures.
- Experience in designing conversational or wizard-style user experiences, including guided workflows and real-time streaming interfaces.
- Familiarity with designing or managing LLM-powered agent systems in production settings, including tool orchestration and multi-step reasoning.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,700.00 to $194,400.00. Your compensation package will also include sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units. Final salary will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, and location.
