What you'll do
- Take charge of the design, development, and deployment of significant features and services, addressing broadly defined challenges and overseeing production and operations.
- Innovate and develop technologies within a large distributed computing framework, leading essential industry changes.
- Evaluate architectural and technical options, promoting engineering best practices, conducting design reviews, ensuring code quality, and maintaining operational excellence within the team.
- Create distributed storage, indexing, and querying systems that are scalable, resilient, cost-effective, and user-friendly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and launch innovative products and services.
- Guide junior engineers and support the technical advancement of the team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, excluding internships.
- At least 2 years of experience in design or architecture of both new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a software development engineer or in a similar role.
- At least 1 year of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Object-Oriented Design.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Nice to have
- Over 3 years of experience in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- Familiarity with distributed computing environments and large-scale system design.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles.
Practical notes
The base salary for this position ranges from $143,700 to $194,400 annually. Your compensation package will also include sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final salary will be based on various factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
