Support Engineer III, REALM

About the role

The REALM team in Bellevue manages production support for over 100 software services within Amazon Transportation Technology. You will serve as a technical expert, resolving complex issues and building automation to improve system stability for global transportation operations.

What you'll do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production software issues across the transportation stack.
• Write and execute SQL queries to investigate data and system behavior.
• Implement code fixes within internal applications using Java, Perl, and Ruby.
• Create monitoring solutions, metrics, and alarms to detect performance degradation.
• Develop automation tools to streamline support workflows and reduce manual intervention.
• Collaborate with development and IT operations teams to mitigate production incidents.
• Maintain system documentation and contribute to software enhancements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in technical support or software development.
• Proficiency in scripting with modern programming languages.
• Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot complex technical systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Capability to work independently and maintain composure during high-pressure incidents.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with distributed systems, web services, and web application development.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting software and hardware RAID.
• Proficiency with REST, XML, and JSON.
