The Hardware Engineering team at AWS is responsible for designing compute and storage servers for Amazon's web services. What you'll do
- Take charge of the design and development of server products, collaborating with various design and manufacturing partners.
- Work alongside a diverse group of professionals, including software, hardware, and network engineers, to ensure the highest safety and security standards while delivering cost-effective solutions for our customers.
- Engage with customers to comprehend their technical requirements and business objectives, utilizing your expertise in server design to architect scalable solutions.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams, including component and firmware engineers, to oversee the product lifecycle from design to deployment and monitor server performance post-launch.
- Strive for continuous improvement in product performance, quality, and cost, while contributing to innovative industry changes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, excluding internships.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing or architecting systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems, along with systems engineering knowledge.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems.
- Familiarity with developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- A master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of software/hardware/network development life cycle practices, including code reviews and testing.
- Experience in creating test plans and developing test infrastructure.
- Over 5 years of experience in systems design, software development, and process improvement.
