About the role
Alpaca is a global financial services firm providing institutional-grade APIs for stocks, ETFs, options, and crypto. This role is part of our fully distributed Crypto Operations team, reporting to the Global Director of Crypto Operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
Oversee daily monitoring and surveillance of customer activities.
Manage day-to-day operational tasks, including trading, account management, and cash handling.
Execute cryptocurrency trades and address any trade exceptions or errors.
Support the customer onboarding process, including Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and account approvals.
Review general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Contribute to the Anti-Money Laundering program and assist with investigations.
Identify and implement improvements to workflows, policies, and tools.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Undertake ad hoc projects and duties as required.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience in brokerage operations, financial services, trading, or cryptocurrency operations.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with cryptocurrency or a strong willingness to learn.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.
Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
Capacity to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability to evolving business and regulatory landscapes.
A proactive approach to challenges and a willingness to take ownership.
Nice to have
Experience in FinTech, financial markets, cryptocurrencies, or investment applications.

Work hours are 8 hours per day, with core hours around 9am to 5pm PT.
