About the role
Alpaca is seeking a driven sales professional to expand our market presence in the United States. You will be responsible for guiding financial institutions through the entire sales journey, from initial contact to closing deals for our brokerage infrastructure solutions. This role is crucial in helping fintechs and other financial firms launch and grow their brokerage services.

What you'll do
- Manage the complete sales process, including prospecting, qualification, negotiation, and closing new business.
- Cultivate a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach, networking, industry events, and inbound leads.
- Drive new revenue for Alpaca's institutional Broker API by connecting with key decision-makers at fintechs, broker-dealers, RIAs, wealth managers, and banks.
- Understand client business needs and technical requirements to effectively present Alpaca's offerings.
- Conduct product demonstrations, deliver presentations, and prepare commercial proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Solutions Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to ensure smooth deal progression.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and forecasts in Salesforce.
- Gather market feedback to refine sales strategies and messaging.
- Represent Alpaca at industry events and client meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience selling technology or financial services to broker-dealers, registered investment advisers (RIAs), wealth management firms, or similar financial entities. Prior experience with a clearing broker-dealer or brokerage infrastructure provider is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and contributing to business expansion.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with broker-dealers, RIAs, and other financial institutions.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders across business, operations, compliance, legal, and technical departments.
- Strong skills in consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly organized with disciplined pipeline management and forecasting.
- Ability to work autonomously in a distributed, remote setting.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive and accountable approach.
- Must possess a Series 7 license.
Nice to have
- Experience selling APIs, developer platforms, or financial infrastructure products.
- Familiarity with brokerage operations, securities trading, wealth management, or capital markets.
- Background working with startups or rapidly growing technology companies.
- Existing professional network within the US fintech sector.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Holding Series 24, 63, or 65 licenses.
