Are you ready to utilize your Rust skills to influence the infrastructure behind advanced AI models? Alignerr is in search of a Senior Rust Software Engineer to develop and enhance the data pipelines, annotation tools, and evaluation systems relied upon by top AI laboratories daily.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create and refine high-performance distributed systems in Rust that facilitate AI data pipelines and evaluation processes.
- Build full-stack tools and backend services for extensive data annotation, validation, and quality assurance.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate concurrency challenges, including deadlocks, race conditions, and subtle asynchronous bugs.
- Enhance the reliability, performance, and safety of existing Rust codebases.
- Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support workflows for model training and evaluation.
- Detect bottlenecks and edge cases in system performance and implement scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Engage in synchronous design reviews and collaborate with peers to iterate on architectural decisions.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in production Rust development is essential.
- Solid experience in creating distributed services using RPC frameworks, distributed state, or consensus protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex concurrency issues utilizing asynchronous instrumentation and tracing tools.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated and dependable, capable of committing to 20-40 hours per week and delivering results independently.
- A strong commitment to code quality, correctness, and safety alongside a focus on timely delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with data annotation systems, data quality pipelines, or AI evaluation infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training, or benchmarking processes.
- Background in developer tooling, systems programming, or high-throughput data infrastructure.
