Senior Backend Engineer (C#)

About the role

Alignerr is looking for a senior engineer to develop the backend infrastructure that supports AI model training. You will build the data pipelines and annotation systems used by top research labs to improve their machine learning models.

What you'll do

• Architect and maintain C# systems designed for high-performance AI data pipelines.
• Create backend services and tools for validating and annotating large datasets.
• Enhance the stability and efficiency of current C# code.
• Work with research and engineering staff to speed up model evaluation and training.
• Locate and fix system performance issues or data processing errors.
• Engage in design meetings to finalize architectural plans and implementation steps.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in C# backend development.
• Proficiency in systems programming and full-stack engineering.
• Mastery of modern frameworks for building RPC services and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with message bus architectures and cloud-native data services.
• Fluency in English for both written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently for 20 to 40 hours weekly.

Nice to have

• Background in building data quality pipelines or annotation platforms.
• Knowledge of AI and ML workflows, including benchmarking and model training.
• Experience in designing distributed systems or creating developer tools.
• History of working directly with AI research teams.
