As a Cyber Security Analyst at Bamboohr, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital assets and ensuring the integrity of our information systems. What you'll do

Conduct thorough assessments of the organization's security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond promptly to security incidents to minimize impact.
Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security measures into existing systems and processes.
Perform regular security audits and risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of current security measures.
Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
Provide training and awareness programs for staff to promote a culture of security within the organization.
Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans, ensuring a swift and effective response to security breaches.
Analyze security incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, assessments, and recommendations for management review.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance security measures and share best practices.
Participate in continuous professional development to stay current with industry standards and emerging technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field, with a focus on threat analysis and incident response.
Strong understanding of security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and vulnerability assessment tools.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ will be considered a plus.
Familiarity with cloud security practices and tools.
Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies and tools.
Previous experience in a similar role within the education sector is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust skill set that includes risk assessment, vulnerability management, incident response, and security policy development. Proficiency in using security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems is essential. This position is based in Jahrah, Kuwait, and is open to local candidates only. The selected candidate will be expected to work on-site and may be required to participate in after-hours support for critical incidents.
