Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

AIS is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to manage containerized infrastructure and automation within Azure Government environments. You will work on a mission-driven team, supporting client projects that require high-level security and technical expertise. This role involves a mix of remote work with occasional onsite visits to Austin, TX or Washington, DC.

What you'll do

• Manage AKS clusters across development, testing, and production environments.
• Build, harden, and scan Linux containers using Docker or Podman for Azure Container Registry.
• Configure Kubernetes components including Helm, Kustomize, Istio, and kubectl.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or Azure DevOps YAML.
• Provision infrastructure using Terraform modules.
• Automate tasks with Bash scripting.
• Maintain platforms such as RabbitMQ, Keycloak, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Azure AI infrastructure.
• Resolve issues involving Entra ID, Application Gateway, private endpoints, and APIM.
• Remediate vulnerabilities using Trivy to meet cyber security standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT or DevOps.
• Active Secret clearance or Interim Secret clearance prior to start date.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• AZ-104 or AZ-305 certification.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting for Linux.
• Experience with container management and Kubernetes tooling.
• Background in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Knowledge of Azure services including AKS, Networking, and Azure SQL.
• Experience with Python scripting.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cARMY Cloud or GOV Cloud environments.
• Experience modernizing legacy workloads using GitOps, event-driven autoscaling, or service mesh.
• Proficiency with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Azure Monitor.
