About the role
This role involves overseeing global cash and transaction reconciliation. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving discrepancies, collaborating with various teams to address issues, and enhancing reconciliation controls and automation. The position also includes leading and developing a team in Singapore.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for cash and transactions across different channels, entities, and regions, establishing clear coverage, service level agreements, escalation paths, and closing schedules.
- Manage reconciliation discrepancies from start to finish, including initial assessment, investigation, root cause analysis, documentation, and follow-up with internal and external partners until resolution.
- Analyze fund flows and transaction lifecycles to identify control weaknesses and risks, then design policies and procedures to ensure fund security and strong financial oversight.
- Drive ongoing improvements for reconciliation systems, tools, and processes, focusing on automation, data quality checks, dashboards, and other scalable enhancements.
- Translate operational requirements into clear specifications and work with product and engineering teams to implement and measure improvements, such as reducing break volumes or speeding up cycle times.
- Collaborate with product, accounting, and regional teams to align reconciliation practices with product changes and reporting needs, standardizing procedures while respecting local requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the reconciliation team, allocating resources for daily operations and projects, and managing capacity, coverage, and training.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in financial operations, reconciliation, or payment operations, with a preference for experience in payments or fintech.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale cash, settlement, and transaction reconciliations and resolving issues with cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end payment processes, including authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, and disputes, and how they relate to ledger entries.
- Experience improving processes and systems through automation, workflow tools, and data pipelines, with the ability to write clear requirements and influence prioritization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and root causes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable with escalating issues and driving accountability.
- Experience in people leadership, either through direct management or significant team lead roles.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SQL or business intelligence tools.
